In this session, Andrew Schroeder, who is one of the leading national figures in humanitarian data, community resilience analytics, and rapid disaster intelligence, will share how Crisis Ready and Direct Relief are transforming disaster preparedness and response around the world.
The presentation will explore how data, technology, and cross sector collaboration come together to support communities before, during, and after emergencies. Andrew will highlight real-world examples from hurricanes, wildfires, public health crises, and international humanitarian operations, showing how high-resolution data, GIS, and analytics directly inform hazard mitigation planning, resource allocation, and rapid response.

The PA GIS Conference will be held April 15-17 2026 at the Penn Stater on the Penn State campus. The deadline for presentation proposals is January 11th, 2026. The deadline for poster and map submissions is March 31, 2026.
